Once More Into the Breach
After ignoring this blog for far too long, I’ve decided to start posting to it regularly again.
This blog has been idle for the most part for a few years now. Partially, I think, because, I had the excuse of social media for expression. (Not that I used it heavily, let’s be honest here.) Mostly, though, because I just didn’t know what I wanted to do with it.
See, most of the time I sit down to a blank page, all I want to do is start writing fiction. It’s who I am, and what I do. But I didn’t want to write fiction in my blog. Didn’t make any sense to me. And when I was last posting here with any regularity, I’d sometimes draw a blank about writing anything else, when I could be writing fiction.
That was a few years ago, though. And although it’s still true that my primary impulse with any blank piece of paper is to start making up a story, I’ve come to find that I that want to write nonfiction now and again. Essays about gaming, and music and more. Possibly even about fiction and writing from time to time, or at least about my own fiction. Maybe behind-the-scenes stuff. Possibly a few other things as well. Time will tell.
Thus, I return to this blog.
And in between longer essay posts, I’m likely to post little snippets of the sort that I used to post to social media. Back before social media … devolved into what it’s become. Quick thoughts about one thing or another.
